#317

Received: July 10th, 2014
From: Fabienne (Hesperange, Luxembourg)
Depicts: Views of Luxembourg City, Luxembourg

Fabienne proposed this swap to me just last week, and she had a very interesting proposal - that I sent her a postcard that she will, later, give to her boyfriend as a birthday gift; she is trying to get postcards from all over the world and I was happy to help her on her quest! Plus, I got to get a postcard from Luxembourg too, and it was my first ever. In the top left, there's the Gëlle Fra - Monument du Souvenir (Monument of Remembrance), a war monument in honor of the thousands of Luxembourgers who participated in World War I. The top right picture shows Ville Haute, a quarter which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the bottom left, we can see Notre-Dame Cathedral, which was originally a Jesuit church, built in 1613. Finally, in the bottom right, there's Place Guillaume, where several markets are held, both weekly and monthly.
