#270

Received: June 9th, 2014
From: Baris (Istanbul, Turkey)
Depicts: Sultanahmet Mosque and Hagia Sophia (Istanbul, Turkey)

In a matter of days, I received two cards from Turkey, and before I didn't have any! And with this one I made an exception - I don't collect unwritten cards and Baris sent it to me unwritten with a letter, but I transcribed a few of the words in the letter to the card and kept it, because it was just too beautiful to send to someone else! It shows the Sultanahmet Mosque, which was built in 1616 and must be amazing to see live, and also the Hagia Sophia, which was a basilica built during the Byzantine Empire to be Constantinople's orthodox cathedral, and nowadays is a museum.

Postcard stamp:
None, since it came in an envelope.
