From: Anastasia (St. Petersburg, Russia)
Depicts: Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral (St. Petersburg, Russia)
This huge postcard came from St. Petersburg - one of the most beautiful cities, that I've only been able to see in cards - and shows a sight I hadn't yet: Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral. Anastasia told me it dates from 1712 and it's located in the Peter and Paul Fortress, which was founded in 1703; they were both designed by the Swiss architect Domenico Trezzini. Although this is a painting and not a picture, the building is indeed intriguin and I'd love to see it for myself one day.
