Depicts: Christmas card
This was the first of a few homemade cards I've received up until today. I'll be honest - I'm not the biggest fan of homemade cards because from what I've seen and heard, people usually send something crappy (there's not better word for it) just so they can save some money. Postcrossing makes you spend a little money, that's true, but I believe you should always think about the other people - if you don't like to get crappy cards, don't send them!
Anyway, this postcard just came to prove the exact contrary: there are people who are really good at handcrafts and this card is just too pretty. It has nice Christmas-y images and also those decorations which are very well cut out and glued with styrofoam so they are 3D. I loved it: Lilian really has a hand for these things. Homemade cards like these are more than welcome!
She also included a nice explanation about Sinterklaas, a celebration they have in The Netherlands and Belgium. It's actually an elderly, stately and serious man with white hair and a long, full beard which tells each child if they have been naughty or nice - Santa Claus much? From what I've got, the major difference is that this celebration occurs on the 5th and 6th of December. They also celebrate Christmas, though.
Postcard stamp:
None, since this card came in an envelope and I couldn't save the stamp.
